Detailed Itinerary of the 3 Days Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival at the nocturnal exploration

Depart from your starting point in Kampala or Entebbe. The journey takes you through the lush landscape of central Uganda.

Stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe. You can watch the water drainage demonstration, take photos on the line dividing the northern and southern hemispheres, and grab a coffee.

Arrive at the park through the Nshara gate. Check into your lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the savannah plains.

Embark on your first game drive. Head toward the Zebra Track and the grassy hillsides. This is an ideal time to see the Burchell’s zebras, topis, and the large eland antelopes that are often shy during the midday heat.

After dinner, head out for a night game drive with a park ranger. This is the most effective way to see leopards, which are more active in Lake Mburo than in many other Ugandan parks. You may also spot hyenas, civets, and white-tailed mongooses. After the adventure, get back to lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Immersive Safari Experiences

Morning nature walk. Meet your armed ranger at the Rwonyo park headquarters. boat cruises at mburoWalking allows you to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem, such as animal tracks, dung beetles, and medicinal plants. You will likely walk close to herds of impalas and zebras on foot.

Boat safari on Lake Mburo. This two-hour trip takes you along the eastern banks of the lake. Keep your binoculars ready for the African finfoot, a rare water bird, as well as kingfishers and fish eagles. Hippos and crocodiles are guaranteed sights along the shoreline.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a few hours of relaxation.

Horseback safari. This is a signature activity in the park. Because the animals do not perceive horses as predators, you can ride directly into the middle of zebra herds. It provides a silent, engine-free connection to the landscape.

Drive to the Kazuma Lookout. A short hike leads you to the top of the hill where you can see five of the park’s lakes simultaneously. It is the best spot for sunset photography.

Day 3: Cycling and Cultural Heritage

Morning mountain bike safari. Follow the designated tracks outside the main carnivore zones. Biking through the park allows you to cover more ground than a walk while still enjoying the fresh air and silence of the bush.
